project title
Fugitive Love Hunt
project description
As the search for love becomes more and more rote and laborious, often guided by spiritless and robotic matchmakers deep within the lockbox of our personal computers, Kathe Izzo and peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution! invite todays pilgrims of love to disarm themselves of all amorous preconceptions and join them on an exploration in the dense layer of love hidden in the accidental and the arbitrary -- the synchronous and the miraculous lair of the everyday. Armed with a map of Central Park marked with sacred love shrines, created especially for the Psy.Geo.Conflux by Kathe Izzo & peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution!, participants will be paired, furnished with both disposable cameras and recorded soundtrack and sent into the wild on a silent hunt for love. The hunt will end with a performance ritual guided by peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution!. Participants must bring some method of listening to a soundtrack for their search provided by peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution!*
*soundtrack will be provided on CD at event.
participants are strongly encouraged to contact Kathe Izzo or peacock revolution before the event.

profile
Poet and conceptual artist Kathe Izzos ongoing TRUE LOVE PROJECT, in which Izzo promises to love the world one person at a time, for one day, minute, hour or afternoon, was initially presented in Sal Randolphs FREE BIENNIAL (NYC 2002) and FREE MANIFESTA (Frankfurt 2002). At present she is continuing to spread the love, increasing her in-person live appointments and commuting telepathically throughout the world. Her newest work, born from her intense collaboration with peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution!, will be featured in her upcoming installation at the Winslow Garage in Los Angeles this May.
A passionate lover of crowds and incognitos, peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution! carries originality to the point of shyness. Recently, when peacock revolution learnt I had in mind to write a bio in appreciation of its mind and its talent, it begged me -- very imperiously I must admit -- to suppress its name, and if I must speak of its works, to speak of them as if they were the works of an anonymous artist. I will humbly comply with this singular request. The reader and I will preserve the fiction that peacock!revolution!is!our!revolution! does not exist, and we shall concern ourselves with its interventions, monuments and becomings (for which it professes a patrician scorn) as though we were scholars who had to pronounce upon precious historical documents, thrown up by chance, whose author must remain eternally unknown. And finally, to give complete reassurance to my conscience, it must be supposed that all I have to say of its strangely mysterious and brilliant nature is more or less suggested by the works in question-pure poetic hypothesis, conjecture, a labour of the imagination.
